Romans 10:13
Romans 10:13
The definition of salvation in the dictionary is “preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin, or loss.”
This is true in Christianity as well: “deliverance from sin and its consequences.”
Peter said this in Acts 4:12 –
You are saved by professing Jesus is the Son of God, who died on the cross for our sins, and was raised from the dead. You must recognize that you are a sinner and you need God’s forgiveness. Accept Jesus Christ as your own personal Savior and according to God’s Word, you will be saved.
This is the main reason that I started this website. True story…I was having a good ol’ “pity party” one day. My husband is a singer/songwriter and I said to him, “Davin, God gave you a wonderful talent so that you could glorify Him by reaching many people. I’m just a web designer. What does He want me to do?” Davin immediately answered, “You could build a website on how to get saved”. Gee, now that’s a no-brainer that I didn’t see.
“Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” John 17:3
Paul said in Romans 10:8-13:
“The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming. That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame. For there is no difference between the Jew and Gentile – the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Getting saved and accepting Christ as your savior isn’t just speaking the words “I believe in Jesus”. It’s about confessing that Jesus is Lord with your mouth and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
Dear God in Heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness. I believe that your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9, that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.
Thank you, Jesus, for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you, Jesus, that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore, Lord Jesus, transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.
Thank you, Jesus, for dying for me and giving me eternal life.
Amen!
Now we have a job to do…to spread this good news! I can’t tell you how many times someone has said to me “There are so many people all over the world that don’t know Jesus and you can’t tell me that they will not go to heaven”. “They don’t know any better”. “They weren’t brought up this way”. “They’re good people”. Now that we know what the “good news” is, it’s our responsibility to share it and to bring others to Christ. Read the below scripture and the answer that Paul gives in Romans.
Paul says in Romans 10:14-15:
How, then can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent?
