The site is especially written for people who are searching, questioning or simply want biblical topics explained in straightforward, easy-to-understand language.

I created Greener Pastures in Jesus for people who are searching.

Maybe you’re searching for answers. Maybe you’re trying to understand who Jesus really is. Maybe you believe in God but don’t feel particularly close to Him. Maybe life hasn’t gone the way you expected, and you’re wondering where God is in all of it.

Or maybe you don’t even know what you believe yet.

I didn’t create this website because I have all the answers. I don’t. I created it because I’ve had questions too. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve gone through seasons when I wasn’t living the way God wanted me to live.

And through all of it, God never stopped drawing me back to Him.

A Little of My Story

I wasn’t raised in a church-going family. But even as a little girl, there was something about God that interested me. I was fascinated by Jesus and wanted to know more. As a child, I would get on a church bus and go to Sunday school. I even remember cutting Bible verses out of the Alvin Sun newspaper and saving them. Looking back, I can see that God was planting seeds in my life long before I understood what He was doing.

But knowing about God and following Him are two very different things.

As I got older, I went through rebellious years. I made bad choices. There were many times when I went my own way instead of God’s way. My journey with God wasn’t a perfectly straight road. Maybe yours hasn’t been either.

That’s one of the reasons this website is so important to me.

Why I Created Greener Pastures in Jesus

You’ve probably heard the saying: “The grass is always greener on the other side.” We spend so much of our lives looking for that greener grass.

We think we’ll finally be happy when we have more money, a better relationship, a better job, more success, a different life, or when we finally become the person we think we’re supposed to be.

Sometimes we simply want peace. Sometimes we want to know that our life matters. Sometimes we want to know that we matter. I believe many of us spend years looking for greener pastures without realizing what we’re actually searching for. I know I did.

Eventually, I realized the greener pasture I was searching for wasn’t really a place at all. It was Jesus.

Psalm 23 says:

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.” — Psalm 23:1–3

That’s where the name Greener Pastures in Jesus comes from. It doesn’t mean that following Jesus gives us a perfect life.

• It means we have a Shepherd.
• Someone to follow.
• Someone who knows us.
• Someone who loves us.
• Someone who forgives us.
• Someone who walks with us through the valleys.
• And Someone who can lead us home.

You Don’t Have to Have It All Together

One of the things I hope you’ll understand while you’re here is that you don’t have to clean up your life before you come to Jesus.

You don’t have to know the Bible from beginning to end. You don’t have to know all the right words. You don’t have to pretend you don’t have doubts. And you certainly don’t have to be perfect.

Jesus didn’t spend His time only with people who appeared to have everything together. He reached out to people who were hurting, rejected, sinful, confused and searching.

That’s good news for all of us!

I am not an evangelist or a Bible scholar. I can’t recite countless Bible verses from memory, and I don’t pretend to have all the answers.

But I know where I go to find them. The Bible.

My goal with this website is not to tell you what Tammy thinks. It’s to help you discover what God’s Word says and encourage you to seek Him for yourself.

These aren’t small questions. They’re questions people have wrestled with for generations, and they’re questions worth asking. Throughout this website, I try to explain biblical truths in straightforward language that ordinary people can understand.

You don’t need a theology degree. You just need to be willing to search.

What I Believe

At the heart of everything on this website is a simple belief: Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

I believe He came into this world, lived among us, died for our sins, was buried and rose again. I believe salvation is God’s gift of grace and cannot be earned by being “good enough.” And I believe Jesus meant what He said:

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6

That’s why this website exists. Not to promote a particular church. Not to promote me. To point people toward Jesus.

Maybe you found this website because you typed a question into Google. Maybe someone sent you a page. Maybe you’re going through something difficult. Or maybe something inside you is simply telling you that there has to be more to life than what you’ve experienced so far.

Whatever brought you here, don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Read. Search. Open a Bible. Talk to God—even if you aren’t quite sure how.

You don’t need a fancy prayer. You can simply start talking to Him.

Jeremiah 29:13 says:

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” — Jeremiah 29:13

So keep searching. Not for religion. Not for perfection. Not for someone else’s version of who God is.

Search for Jesus.
