Experiencing God's Love

GOD’S UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

God had you in mind before you were born. He set you apart from everyone and has a plan designed especially for you. God’s love is not a partial love. God’s love for us is UNCONDITIONAL. The definition of unconditional is “not limited by conditions; absolute”. The LOVE of God in scripture is “Agape” and is Greek referring to “the highest form of love”. Try and imagine that certain love God has for us…an unconditional highest form of love. Now imagine this:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
John 3:16-17

We experience God’s love “because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us”. Romans 5:5

LET GOD DO HIS WORK

God works through all of us. He brings people into our lives to help us. He takes people out of our lives that may be toxic to us. Yes, He loves us that much! Look around and see what God has brought you. God placed us here to have sweet fellowship with each other, and the only way to stay where God wants us is to be with people that can build us up, not bring us down. When we let God do His work in us, we allow ourselves to work in others, thus being obedient to God. Does this make sense? Since God has a purpose for every one of us, we cannot do His work if we are weighed down by people or things getting in our way.

You cannot experience God’s love with these in your way:

“Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.”
Romans 8:5-8

You will not experience God’s love if you don’t allow it. If this is out of your comfort zone, just take baby steps. Pray and ask God specifically and He will lead you. Maybe a good start to experiencing God’s love is one of these:

  • Surround yourself with positive, Godly people
  • Join a bible-based church
  • Join a bible study
  • Tell someone you love them
  • Tell someone you forgive them
  • Do something nice for a family member
  • Call someone you haven’t talked to in a long time
  • Smile at a stranger
